4-H Invest An Acre, and the Howard Buffett Foundation are working together to provide grants to local 4-H clubs and counties to combat local hunger. By teaming up with Invest An Acre, 4-H can reach out to the people who grow the food for our nation. I am lucky enough to be able to work with St. Bernard’s Child Care, Troop 380, and the Extension Office in Douglas/Sarpy Counties with this grant. We built 4 raised beds this week and planted

Cooking is a Lost Art!

I have been attending the most terrific Dairy Symposium today and looking forward to tomorrow! This afternoon, everyone visited a local family dairy farm and learned all about what it takes to get milk from the farm to your glass. Pretty interesting stuff! Spring Fever!

It’s April 11, and by this time my lettuce, carrots and beets are usually in my garden beds. So are some of my herb seeds. Yep—fresh produce growing in the spring sun. NOT! It’s 32 degrees out and is snowing. Spring forgot to come to Nebraska this year.
