Nuts About Wasabi Trail Mix
Are you looking for a holiday DIY food gift with a kick? Try this “Nuts about Wasabi,” trail mix. Wasabi peas are made with dehydrated peas and wasabi seasoning. Wasabi is the Japanese version of horseradish made from a wasabi plant’s root, which is indigenous to Japan. Wasabi packs a kick that is bold, pungent, and fiery.
The nuts and dried cranberries in the “Nuts about Wasabi,” trail mix helps balance the bold flavor of the wasabi peas. Other uses of wasabi peas: stir into tuna, chicken, or pasta salad; add to soups or top your favorite stir fry with these crunchy peas. Wasabi peas are a good source of protein, and fiber! In addition to being used to season dehydrated peas, wasabi is most often used to make a green colored condiment served with sushi. For those with a less fiery palate try the Snowy Trail Mix: mini marshmallows, twist pretzels, peanuts, dried cranberries, and popcorn. Trail mixes pictured were packaged in plastic mason “jars.”
