Gardening in Omaha

Rain + Sun + Heat= Great Plant Growth! That’s what has been going on this week!
We had over two inches of rain in the past week, and the temperature has been at least 70°F. This is perfect weather for plants to grow! I went back yesterday to help plant our tomatoes, broccoli and egg plant. The enthusiasm of the kids and their teachers was incredible! Almost everything we planted from seeds last week came up. The radishes are about 1 ½ inches tall. They all look great! I will need to bring more Omagro* next time to top off the beds, as they have settled a little. School is out tomorrow, and it will just be child care taking care of this fun garden. I will be bringing a master gardener soon to talk to the kids about their plants and to tell us if we planted them correctly! Should be really fun!
*Omagro—is a100% natural organic soil amendment produced from domestic turf grass clippings, aged leaves, and ground wood. It looks like black gold. It has so many nutrients in it, that plants grow extra tall!
