{"id":4146,"date":"2012-07-21T08:00:38","date_gmt":"2012-07-21T14:00:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nutritionknowhow.org\/wordpress\/?p=4146"},"modified":"2013-08-07T18:37:17","modified_gmt":"2013-08-07T18:37:17","slug":"cindys-version-of-marthas-bread","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nutritionknowhow.org\/blog\/c\/cindys-version-of-marthas-bread\/","title":{"rendered":"Cindy&#8217;s Version of Martha&#8217;s Bread!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>You know it&#8217;s summer at our house when I do not use the oven.<\/p>\n<p>This summer, it has been at least 95 degrees for the last month, and most days closer to 100!\u00a0 It looks like more of the same for the next month according to the weather man.\u00a0 I hate heating up my house with the oven when the air conditioner is working so hard, and we like lighter meals in the summer.\u00a0 One of our favorite quick meals is a variation of something we saw Martha Stewart do on television 12 years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Martha buttered and &#8220;garlicked&#8221; crusty bread slices.\u00a0 We used ciabatta bread this weekend, and it was wonderful.\u00a0 Crusty Rotella rolls are great too!\u00a0 She placed the bread under a broiler to toast them with the garlic butter first.\u00a0 We toasted them in a toaster oven (does not heat up my kitchen!).\u00a0 Placing them on the grill gives them a whole other flavor&#8211;so try it also.\u00a0 Sorry&#8211;I digress.\u00a0 Then she sprinkled them with shredded cheese. I\u2019m not talking plain old cheddar.\u00a0 She used a specialty cheese.\u00a0 We prefer smoked Gouda or finely aged cheddar.
