{"id":2356,"date":"2010-07-07T08:14:15","date_gmt":"2010-07-07T14:14:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nutritionknowhow.org\/wordpress\/?p=2356"},"modified":"2013-08-21T20:03:34","modified_gmt":"2013-08-21T20:03:34","slug":"exercising-post-partum-ask-for-help","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nutritionknowhow.org\/blog\/e\/exercising-post-partum-ask-for-help\/","title":{"rendered":"Exercising Post Partum: Ask for Help"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My husband will be very happy with my blog this month and he deserves all the accolades I\u2019m about to bestow. \u00a0I\u2019m able to exercise after my second child because I have a very supportive husband. \u00a0He knows how important it is for me to exercise. \u00a0I\u2019m sure he\u2019d add that I\u2019m always a little happier after a good workout so he benefits too.<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\nBack when my daughter was born, she and I would go on an hour long walk together after work. \u00a0When she was 6 months old, I got a jogging stroller and we started running together. \u00a0It was great. \u00a0We had a lot of fun together.<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\nIn March of this year, I gave birth to a son. \u00a0My stroller walk approach was great when I had one child, but with a two year old and an infant, I\u2019m lucky if we can make it the 200 yards to our neighborhood park. \u00a0At this stage, I have to find time away from the kids to get a good cardio\u00a0workout.\u00a0 I count all the lifting\u00a0of them I do during\u00a0the day as my strength training workout.<\/p>\n<p>I tried waking up early to exercise before the kids were awake, but then my son decided to wake up early too.\u00a0\u00a0I finally had to admit that I needed help.<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\nI told my husband that I was getting frustrated and wanted to find a way to workout.\u00a0 I didn&#8217;t have to workout every day like I used to.\u00a0 I&#8217;d be content with setting a goal of working out twice a week.\u00a0 He offered to help me have some time to invest in myself.<\/p>\n<p>My routine is a little different than it used to be too.\u00a0 I love to run outside, but there are times when I use the <span id=\"lw_1278443422_3\">home gym<\/span> so I can help my husband if needed. \u00a0 We have an exercise area in the basement with plenty of exercise DVD\u2019s, a treadmill and an <span id=\"lw_1278443422_4\">elliptical machine<\/span>.<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: Calibri;
