{"id":1524,"date":"2009-10-27T15:03:28","date_gmt":"2009-10-27T21:03:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nutritionknowhow.org\/wordpress\/?p=1524"},"modified":"2013-08-21T21:46:10","modified_gmt":"2013-08-21T21:46:10","slug":"mommy-priorities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nutritionknowhow.org\/blog\/e\/mommy-priorities\/","title":{"rendered":"Mommy Priorities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recently, I listened to a speaker discussing priorities.\u00a0 She was my Weight Watchers leader talking to a group of individuals (mostly women) trying to become healthier.\u00a0 She asked us to list our priorities numbering one to ten.\u00a0\u00a0 She then asked where we fit, or if we were even on the list?\u00a0 She went on to explain that we should at least be in the top three.\u00a0 Many people didn\u2019t have themselves on the list.\u00a0 If we don\u2019t take care of ourselves, how can we take care of our families and other commitments?\u00a0 My family definitely comes first.\u00a0 Period\u2014no argument.\u00a0 Extended family and friends are number two.\u00a0 Work is around three\u2014but can be exchanged with my commitments as Home and School President, Girl Scout co-leader, and other offices that I hold.\u00a0 I\u2019m down the list some.\u00a0 Church and other things are before me.<\/p>\n<p>My son has been home this week with the H1N1 flu.\u00a0 Yeah\u2014I know\u2014even the food safety Nazi has children who get sick!\u00a0 I thought about this long and hard.\u00a0 If I didn\u2019t get enough sleep or keep myself healthy, how was I going to be able to take care of a sick child?
